Derek Maier has held many positions over the course of his career. From an Infantryman in the U.S. Army to the owner of JDog Junk Removal and Hauling in Rapid City, South Dakota, Derek has built upon his experiences as he continues to serve and strive to provide better opportunities for all.
Derek served 13 years in the U.S. Army before joining the Air Force Reserves in 2019. He began his Army tenure as Infantryman, stationed in Kentucky and the Republic of Korea. Later, he reclassified to a Human Resource Specialist and was selected to serve on the Secretary of the Army’s immediate staff at the Pentagon.
As a civilian, Derek set his sights on entrepreneurship but still wanted to work with Veterans in some capacity. This desire led him to JDog. Derek intends to utilize his vast Military experiences to further the JDog mission of empowering others. Providing residential and commercial junk removal services is not just about decluttering for Derek. It’s about being an active member of the Black Hills community while supporting local Veterans.
Derek has transformed his JDog Rapid City operation into a family business with his wife and children each contributing in various ways. Residents and fellow business owners across Pennington County can rely on Derek and his team’s dedication to respectful community service and eco-friendly junk removal options to efficiently tackle any hauling needs.
